By the way, Jack Nicklaus turns 69 today!

Today is the big day. The day so many have waited for. Their savior will be sworn in today as the 44th President of the United States. As you already know it is the biggest inauguration to date. Of course, if it were anyone else being sworn in today the powers that be would throw out a couple of picnic tables, cook some burgers, hire a Barber Shop Quartet, and call it good. Not today. It is a no holds barred party for the ages. I must admit though that I have finally found something that Mr. Barrack Obama and myself agree on. I want change!I need Change! Yes Barrack, Change is what we need!

I have never seen so many people in a frenzy over one man!  Come on people, get a grip on things.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I think it is a great accomplishment for Mr. Barrack Obama to become president.  I’m sure that he is a nice man and that he will more than likely do some good things for our country. For this segment, that particular issue is of no importance.

Did I actually see people crying when he won?  Did I actually hear a young lady say that Obama would be the answer for her lack of money, her inability to find work, that he would bring peace?  Yes…..I did hear that.  As sad as that sounds, I believe that is the very reason that this country is in a frenzy over today’s inauguration.  People are looking for answers.  When someone promises to fix everything then our obvious reaction is excitement and hope!!!

I’m sorry, but I have bad news………………….HE AINT THE ANSWER!

I need change!  I need my heart to change so that I have more compassion for people.  I need to change the way I view sin.  I need to change the way I get so complacent between blessings from God!  You know what I mean………I get desperate, I beg God, God answers, then I coast until I am desperate again!  I need to change priorities.  Obama is right!  I need change.

WOW!  If the world only knew what I read today in Isaiah.

Isaiah 43:10-16 (New Living Translation)

10 “But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord.
“You are my servant.
You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,
and understand that I alone am God.
There is no other God—
there never has been, and there never will be.
11 I, yes I, am the Lord,
and there is no other Savior.
12 First I predicted your rescue,
then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.
No foreign god has ever done this.
You are witnesses that I am the only God,”
says the Lord.
13 “From eternity to eternity I am God.
No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.
No one can undo what I have done.”

God is the answer!  His Word is relevant to you and to me today!

So go ahead and watch the inauguration.  It is no doubt historic.  I know all the super spiritual people are yelling that we also need to pray for him and I agree, we do!  However, my prayer today is that I exhibit a life of commitment to Christ as I drive my kids to school.  That they will know that their dad loves Jesus and that they see it lived out…..especially when some moron pulls out in front of me in a hurry to watch the festivities!  That I would trust Him with my everything, especially when things look hopeless!  There is hope!
